Recipe: www.HealthyVeganRecipes.net This vegetarian burger recipe is one of the simplest healthy vegetarian recipes for burgers. Millet is a perfect grain for making patties since it is very soft and sticky when fully cooked. It also picks up the color of the beets for a lovely red burger. Use lots of fresh mint in these burgers, or try some fresh basil.

@hughharman I started with them raw, but it’s also good if you want to boil/steam them first :)

Were the beets precooked when you grated them or did you grate raw beets?

@Msshay321 you can usually substitute other things – try brown rice instead of millet, and use whatever seasonings you have. Experimentation is the best way to learn how things work :)

this is a great base for healthy and light burgers.I added some more extras, carrot, parsley, onion, garlic, cumin and feta cheese. They were very tasteful in the oven but also a delicious falafel alternative when fried in olive oil.

@Magyarvadasz Thanks for watching! I don’t usually care about making vegan foods look like meat, but since I was using beets anyway it just came out like that. Hope that helps clear things up for you!

Sorry, am I the only one who is new at authentic Indian cooking? I’m looking at ingredients and that’s NOT 2 table spoons of butter. It’s more like a third stick or more.
