Instructions
Step 2: Season the Steaks
- In a small bowl, combine:
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika
- Rub the steaks evenly with olive oil.
- Then coat both sides generously with the seasoning mixture.
- For deeper flavor, you may refrigerate the seasoned steaks for up to 30 minutes.
Step 3: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- A properly preheated air fryer helps create a better crust on the steak.
Step 4: Air Fry the Ribeye Steaks
- Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Avoid overlapping for even cooking.
- Cook at 200°C (400°F) according to desired doneness:
- Rare: 6–7 minutes total (flip halfway)
- Medium-rare: 8–10 minutes total
- Medium: 10–12 minutes total
- Well-done: 12–14 minutes total
- Flip the steaks halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
- For best accuracy, use a meat thermometer:
- Rare: 50–52°C (120–125°F)
- Medium-rare: 55–57°C (130–135°F)
- Medium: 60–63°C (140–145°F)
- Well-done: 70°C+ (160°F+)
Step 5: Add Butter Finish
- In the final 1–2 minutes of cooking, place a small pat of butter on each steak.
- The butter melts into the meat, enhancing richness and flavor.
Step 6: Rest the Steaks
- Remove the steaks from the air fryer and place them on a plate.
- Let them rest for 5–10 minutes .
- Resting allows juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring a tender and juicy bite.
- Do not skip this step.
Step 7: Slice and Serve
- Slice the ribeye against the grain for maximum tenderness.
- Serve immediately while hot.
