Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. If cooking on a grill, preheat it to medium heat.

Step 2: Prepare the Beef

  1. In a large bowl, combine:
  2. Ground beef
  3. Garlic powder
  4. Onion powder
  5. Smoked paprika
  6. Worcestershire sauce
  7. Salt
  8. Black pepper
  9. Mix gently until combined.
  10. Divide into four equal portions and shape into patties.

Step 3: Prepare the Vegetables

  1. Wash and slice all vegetables into similar thickness to ensure even cooking.
  2. Place them into a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Season with:
  5. Italian seasoning
  6. Thyme
  7. Parsley
  8. Salt
  9. Pepper
  10. Toss until evenly coated.

Step 4: Assemble the Foil Packets

  1. Lay four large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil on a work surface.
  2. Divide the potatoes evenly among the packets, creating a base.
  3. Top with carrots, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms.
  4. Place one beef patty on top of each vegetable pile.
  5. Add one tablespoon of butter to each packet.
  6. Fold the foil tightly, sealing all edges to keep the steam inside.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Place the foil packets on a baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 40–45 minutes , or until the potatoes are tender and the beef reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  3. If grilling, cook over medium heat for about 35–40 minutes , turning once halfway through cooking.

Step 6: Rest

  1. Carefully remove the packets from the oven.
  2. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes before opening, as hot steam will escape.

Step 7: Serve

  1. Open each foil packet carefully.
  2. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped parsley, bacon bits, or green onions if desired.
  3. Serve directly from the foil or transfer to plates.
