Ingredients
For the Beef Marinade:
- 400 g beef sirloin or flank steak (thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Stir-Fry:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion (sliced)
- 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 red bell pepper (optional, sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
For the Sauce:
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (or more for stronger flavor)
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Beef
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
- Mix with marinade ingredients and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and broth.
- Set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Beef
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or large pan over high heat.
- Add beef and stir-fry quickly (2–3 minutes) until browned.
- Remove and set aside.
Step 4: Stir-Fry Vegetables
- Add remaining oil to the pan.
- Stir-fry garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Add onions and bell peppers; cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 5: Combine and Sauce
- Return beef to the pan.
- Pour in the sauce and stir well.
- Add cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
Step 6: Serve
- Serve hot, ideally over steamed rice or noodles.
