Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish or a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Leave the entire block of Hawaiian rolls connected as one single unit; do not pull the individual rolls apart.

2. Slice the Rolls

  1. Using a long, serrated bread knife, slice horizontally through the middle of the entire block of rolls so you have one large top piece and one large bottom piece. Place the bottom slab of rolls into your prepared baking dish.

3. Mix the Garlic Butter

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and honey (if using). Whisk thoroughly to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the warm butter.

4. Layer the Cheese and Butter

  1. Brush half of the garlic herb butter mixture generously over the surface of the bottom layer of rolls. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and half of the cheddar cheese evenly over the buttered bread. Place the top slab of Hawaiian rolls back over the melted cheese layer.

5. Top and Bake

  1. Brush the remaining garlic herb butter evenly across the tops of the rolls, making sure it drips down the sides. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese across the top, followed by a dusting of grated Parmesan cheese for a crisp, savory crust.
  2. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil to prevent the tops from burning too quickly while the cheese melts. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling, melted, and golden brown.

6. Serve

  1. Allow the rolls to cool for 3 to 5 minutes before slicing or pulling apart into individual servings. Serve warm and enjoy immediately.
