Egg on toast is one of the quickest and easiest breakfasts you can make, and using the air fryer makes it even simpler. This recipe gives you crispy toast with a perfectly cooked egg on top, ready in just a few minutes. It’s perfect for busy mornings or a light snack. The best part is that you only need a few ingredients: bread, eggs, and a little seasoning. You can also make it your own by adding cheese, herbs, or even a slice of ham under the egg. The air fryer makes sure the bread stays crunchy while the egg cooks nicely in the middle.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter (softened)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- (Optional: grated cheese, chopped herbs, or ham slices)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Lightly butter one side of each bread slice.
- Use a spoon or the back of a cup to press down in the middle of each bread slice, making a small dip.
- Crack one egg into the dip of each bread slice.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the slices into the air fryer basket carefully.
- Cook for 7–9 minutes, or until the egg is cooked the way you like it.
- Remove gently with a spatula and serve hot.
Notes
Add grated cheese on top before cooking for a cheesy version. For extra flavor, sprinkle dried herbs or chili flakes. If you like soft yolks, check the eggs after 6 minutes. For firmer eggs, leave a bit longer.
