Instructions

  1. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Using the back of a spoon, gently press down the center of each bread slice to create a shallow well.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 340°F (170°C) for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Place the bread slices into the air fryer basket.
  5. Carefully crack one egg into the center of each slice.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. If using cheese, sprinkle shredded cheddar around the egg, avoiding covering the yolk completely.
  8. Cook at 340°F (170°C) for 8-10 minutes (8 minutes for soft yolk, 9 for medium, 10 for firm).
  9. Check the toast during the final minute to avoid overcooking.
  10. Carefully remove the toast from the air fryer using a spatula.
  11. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and any desired toppings.
  12. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.

Notes

Use thick bread slices to prevent sogginess. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure proper air circulation. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day and reheated in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for 2-3 minutes. Avoid microwaving as it makes the toast soft.
