Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Breadcrumb Mixture
- In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for about 2 minutes so the breadcrumbs absorb the liquid. This helps create a moist and tender meatloaf.
Step 2: Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients
- Add the ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and parsley to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Using clean hands or a spoon, gently mix everything together until just combined. Avoid overmixing because it can make the meatloaf dense and tough.
Step 3: Shape the Meatloaf
- Shape the mixture into a loaf that fits comfortably inside your air fryer basket. Keep the loaf compact but not overly tight.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or lightly greased foil for easier cleanup.
Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
- Preheating helps the meatloaf cook evenly and develop a nice crust.
Step 5: Air Fry the Meatloaf
- Place the meatloaf in the air fryer basket and cook at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
- While it cooks, prepare the glaze.
Step 6: Make the Glaze
- In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard until smooth.
- This glaze adds a sweet and tangy flavor that perfectly complements the savory meat.
Step 7: Add the Glaze
- After 20 minutes of cooking, carefully spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Return it to the air fryer and cook for another 5–10 minutes , or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) .
Step 8: Rest Before Slicing
- Remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Resting allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meatloaf moist and flavorful.
