Ingredients
For the pastry:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Filling:
- 100 g cooked ham (thin slices or diced)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
- ½ red bell pepper (finely diced)
- ½ green bell pepper (finely diced)
- ¼ onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup spinach (optional, chopped)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian herbs
- Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
1. Prepare the filling
- Heat olive oil in a pan.
- Sauté onion and bell peppers for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add spinach (if using) and cook briefly.
- Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
2. Roll the pastry
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut into a rectangle if needed.
3. Add filling
- Spread the cooked veggies evenly over half of the pastry.
- Add ham and sprinkle cheese generously on top.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling.
4. Cut and twist
- Cut into strips (about 2 cm wide).
- Twist each strip gently and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
5. Egg wash
- Beat the egg and brush over each twist for a golden finish.
6. Bake
- Bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
