Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Spread

  1. In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and garlic powder until smooth. This flavorful base coats the tortilla, adding moisture and a tangy counterpoint to the rich ham and cheese.

Step 2: Assemble the Tortillas

  1. Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean cutting board or work surface.
  2. Spread roughly 1 tablespoon of the mustard-mayo mix evenly across each tortilla, leaving a ½-inch border along the edges.
  3. Sprinkle a thin layer of shredded cheese (about 2 tablespoons) over the spread.
  4. Lay 2 slices of deli ham flat over the cheese layer.
  5. Top the ham with the remaining shredded cheese (roughly 3 to 4 tablespoons per tortilla). Keeping cheese on both top and bottom of the ham acts as the “glue” that seals the roll together as it melts.

Step 3: Roll Firmly

  1. Fold two opposite sides slightly inward, then roll the tortilla tightly from the bottom up into a neat log. Place the roll seam-side down on your board so it holds its shape.

Step 4: Season the Crust

  1. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe dish and stir in the dried Italian seasoning. Brush the outside of each tortilla roll lightly with the seasoned butter mixture.
