Instructions
1. Choose and Prepare the Dragon Fruit
- Begin with 2 large, ripe white dragon fruits. Look for fruit that feels slightly soft when gently pressed. The outer skin should look fresh, while the leafy scales should not appear excessively dry or damaged.
- Wash the dragon fruits thoroughly under cool running water. Place them on a clean cutting board and carefully cut each fruit in half lengthwise.
- Use a spoon to scoop the white flesh away from the colorful outer skin. Transfer the flesh to a clean bowl and discard the skin.
- Cut the fruit into medium-sized chunks. Smaller pieces are easier for the blender to process and help create an evenly smooth milkshake.
- The tiny black seeds inside dragon fruit are naturally edible. There is no need to remove them before blending. They also contribute to the distinctive appearance of the finished drink.
2. Add the Ingredients
- Place the prepared dragon fruit pieces into a blender.
- Add 2 cups of cold milk . Dairy milk works well, but you can also use an unsweetened plant-based milk such as almond, oat, or soy milk if preferred.
- Pour in ½ cup of cold water . This helps loosen the mixture and allows the blender to process the fruit more easily. If you want an extra-thick milkshake, begin with less water and add more only when necessary.
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar . Start with a modest amount because the natural sweetness of dragon fruit can vary. You can always add more after tasting.
- Next, add 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice . Lemon provides a mild acidic note that helps balance the creamy sweetness and makes the fruit flavor taste brighter.
- Add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract for a gentle aromatic flavor.
- Finally, add 1 cup of ice cubes .
3. Blend Until Creamy
- Secure the blender lid firmly before switching it on.
- Start blending at a low speed and gradually increase the speed. Blend for approximately 1–2 minutes , or until the dragon fruit, milk, ice, vanilla, and lemon juice are thoroughly combined.
- The finished mixture should look creamy and evenly blended. If your blender has difficulty processing the ice, stop the blender and allow the ingredients to settle briefly. Never put your hands or utensils into a running blender.
- If the milkshake seems too thick, add a small amount of cold milk or water. If it seems too thin, add a few more pieces of dragon fruit or a small amount of additional ice and blend again.
4. Taste and Adjust
- Once the milkshake is blended, carefully taste it.
- If it needs more sweetness, add 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar and blend for several seconds. Repeat gradually until you reach the flavor you prefer.
- Avoid adding a large amount of sweetener immediately because ripe dragon fruit can already provide considerable natural sweetness.
- For a richer dessert-style drink, add 2–3 tablespoons of condensed milk . Blend briefly until incorporated. Because condensed milk is already sweet, taste the milkshake before adding any additional sugar or honey.
- For a healthier everyday version, you can leave out the condensed milk completely.
5. Adjust the Texture
- The consistency of the milkshake can easily be changed.
- For a thicker milkshake , reduce the amount of water, use additional ice, or add a little more dragon fruit.
- For a creamier milkshake , use cold milk rather than extra water.
- For a lighter drink , add a small amount of cold water or milk and blend again.
- If you prefer a completely smooth texture, you may strain the finished milkshake through a fine-mesh sieve. However, this is optional because the small dragon fruit seeds are edible and are normally left in the beverage.
6. Serve Immediately
- Pour the finished milkshake into chilled glasses as soon as it reaches your preferred consistency.
- For a simple garnish, add a few small cubes of white dragon fruit or place a thin lemon slice on the rim of the glass. You can also add a small amount of dragon fruit on top for a colorful presentation.
- For an attractive dessert-style presentation, lightly drizzle a little condensed milk around the inside of the glass before pouring in the milkshake. This is optional and will make the drink sweeter.
- Chilled glasses are especially useful during warm weather because they help keep the milkshake cold for longer.

Notes
For the best quality, drink the milkshake immediately after blending. If you need to keep it briefly, place it in a covered container in the refrigerator and consume it as soon as practical. The mixture may separate slightly during storage, so gently stir or shake it before drinking. Because this recipe contains fresh fruit and milk, avoid leaving it at room temperature for an extended period.
