Teriyaki pineapple is a sweet, tangy, and savory dish where juicy pineapple is cooked or glazed with teriyaki sauce. It can be served as a side dish, a topping for rice, a glaze for chicken or meat, or a grilled snack. The flavor combines caramelized sweetness + salty umami from teriyaki sauce.

Instructions
- Prepare Pineapple: Peel and core the pineapple. Cut into rings (for grilling) or bite-sized chunks (for stir-fry style).
- Sauté Pineapple: Heat butter or oil in pan. Add pineapple pieces. Cook on medium-high heat. Let it caramelize slightly (2–4 minutes per side) until golden edges form.
- Make Teriyaki Sauce: In a separate pan, add soy sauce, honey, water, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thick and glossy.
- Combine Pineapple + Sauce: Add sautéed pineapple into teriyaki sauce. Toss gently to coat evenly. Cook for 2–3 minutes to let sauce stick and glaze the fruit.
- Final Caramelization: Increase heat slightly for 1–2 minutes. Allow edges to caramelize. Turn off heat once sticky and shiny.

Notes
Use fresh pineapple (not canned for grilling). Don’t overcook (it becomes mushy). High heat = better caramelization. Add sauce at the end for shine. Let it rest 1–2 minutes before serving. Common mistakes include overcooking pineapple, using too much sauce, using low heat, or adding sauce too early.
