- 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced small

- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice, optional
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Pinch of salt

- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Yeast
- Pour the warm milk into a large mixing bowl.
- Add the granulated sugar and yeast. Stir gently and allow the mixture to sit for approximately 5–10 minutes .
- The yeast should become slightly foamy. This is a good indication that it is active.
Step 2: Make the Dough
- Add the melted butter, egg, vanilla, and salt.
- Mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour, about ½ cup at a time, mixing after each addition.
- When the dough begins to come together, transfer it to a lightly floured surface.
Step 3: Knead the Dough
- Knead the dough for approximately 7–10 minutes .
