Instructions
- Fill a medium bowl with cold water and plenty of ice cubes. Set aside near your stovetop. Bring a medium pot filled with enough water to submerge the eggs completely to a rolling boil over high heat. Add 1 tbsp salt and 1 tbsp white vinegar .
- Gently lower the eggs into the boiling water using a slotted spoon to prevent cracking. Immediately reduce heat slightly to a steady, active boil. Stir gently in a clockwise direction for the first 2 minutes—this centers the yolks inside the whites. Boil for 6 minutes 30 seconds .
- Remove eggs immediately with a slotted spoon and submerge them into the ice bath. Allow them to chill for at least 10 minutes. Gently tap each egg on the counter to crack the shell all over, then peel under cool running water or inside the ice bath.
- In a glass container or glass jar, combine ½ cup soy sauce , ½ cup water , and ⅓ cup honey . Whisk until the honey dissolves completely. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped green onions, diced red chili, diced green chili, and toasted sesame seeds.
- Place the peeled soft-boiled eggs gently into the marinade. Ensure the eggs are submerged (you can place a paper towel or food plastic wrap over the top surface to keep them immersed). Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours , preferably overnight (12–24 hours) .
