Instructions

  1. For the Milkshake: Add milk, ice cream, sugar, vanilla, and condensed milk to a blender. Blend until smooth and frothy. Add half the tutti frutti and pulse once or twice. Pour into glasses over ice. Top with remaining tutti frutti and a small scoop of ice cream if desired. Serve immediately.
  2. For the Juice Drink: In a jug, combine all the juices and lemon juice. Stir in sugar or honey until dissolved. Add tutti frutti and mix. Chill for 30 minutes so flavors blend. Pour over ice. Top with soda if you want fizz. Garnish with fresh fruit and extra tutti frutti. Serve cold.
  3. For the Pakistani-Style Drink: Mix cold milk, sugar, and rose water. Add tutti frutti. Just before serving, pour in the chilled soda and stir gently. Serve immediately over ice.

Notes

Tutti frutti is candied raw papaya, sold in most South Asian grocery stores; you can also use candied cherries or mixed candied fruit. Do not over-blend tutti frutti in a blender as it dulls the bright colors. Chill everything before making to avoid a warm drink. Adjust sweetness depending on your juice and tutti frutti brand. For a slushy version, blend with crushed ice until thick.
