Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Aloe Vera

  1. Wash the aloe vera leaf thoroughly under running water. Using a sharp knife, remove the outer green skin and carefully extract the clear gel from inside the leaf.
  2. Transfer the gel to a blender and blend until smooth. This creates a uniform consistency that will mix easily with the oils.

Step 2: Combine the Ingredients

  1. Pour the coconut oil into a saucepan over low heat. Add the blended aloe vera gel and stir continuously.
  2. Next, add the castor oil and almond oil. Continue stirring until all ingredients are well combined.

Step 3: Infuse the Oil

  1. Allow the mixture to simmer gently over low heat for approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Stir every few minutes to prevent sticking. During this process, the water content from the aloe vera will gradually evaporate, allowing the beneficial compounds to infuse into the oils.
  3. Avoid overheating, as excessive heat may reduce the effectiveness of some nutrients.

Step 4: Check for Readiness

  1. The oil is ready when bubbling significantly decreases and the aloe residue appears slightly brown.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool completely for about one hour.

Step 5: Strain the Oil

  1. Place a cheesecloth over a fine mesh strainer and position it above a clean bowl.
  2. Carefully pour the cooled mixture through the strainer. Squeeze the cloth gently to extract as much oil as possible.
  3. Discard the remaining solids.

Step 6: Add Finishing Ingredients

  1. Once the oil has cooled completely, add vitamin E oil and essential oils if desired.
  2. Mix thoroughly to distribute the ingredients evenly.

Step 7: Bottle and Store

  1. Using a funnel, transfer the finished oil into a sterilized glass bottle.
  2. Seal tightly and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
