Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C / 350°F for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Roll the puff pastry lightly on a flat surface and cut it into rectangles or squares based on your air fryer basket size.
  3. Optional: spread a thin layer of mustard on each piece.
  4. Place a slice of ham on one half of the pastry, then add cheese.
  5. Fold the pastry over and press the edges with a fork to close it.
  6. Mix the egg with milk or water and brush the top of each pastry with this mixture.
  7. Sprinkle seeds if you like.
  8. Place the pastries in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are not crowded.
  9. Cook at 180°C / 350°F for 10–12 minutes until puffed and golden, flipping halfway if needed for even color.
  10. Let the pastries rest for 2–3 minutes and serve warm.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold until you are ready to use it for best puff. Don’t put too much filling, or cheese may spill. If the pastries brown too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
