Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer temperature to 360°F (180°C) and preheat for 3 minutes. Preheating ensures even ambient air circulation right from the start.
  2. Prep the Ramekins: Lightly spray the inside of two heat-safe ramekins or silicone muffin cups with non-stick cooking spray or olive oil.
  3. Add Warm Water: Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of warm water into each ramekin. The water creates a gentle steam bath under the dry heat, producing the soft texture characteristic of traditional poached eggs.
  4. Crack the Eggs: Gently crack one cold, fresh egg into each water-filled ramekin. Be careful not to puncture the yolk.
  5. Air Fry to Preferred Doneness: Place the filled ramekins directly into the preheated air fryer basket. Slide the basket closed and cook at 360°F (180°C) using the guide below: Ultra-Runny Yolks: 5 minutes
  6. Standard Poached (Soft White, Liquid Yolk): 6 minutes
  7. Medium-Soft Yolks (Jammy Center): 7 minutes
  8. Hard-Poached Yolks: 8 minutes
  9. Drain and Serve: Carefully remove the hot ramekins using tongs or an oven mitt. Using a spoon or slotted spoon, gently lift the poached egg out of the water, allowing excess water to drain onto a paper towel. Season with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
