Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes. Lightly grease a 6-inch round cake pan and line the base with parchment paper.
Step 2: Beat the Eggs
- Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat for about 4–5 minutes until they become pale, thick, and doubled in volume.
Step 3: Add the Sugar
- Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat. Mix for another 2–3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Step 4: Add the Powdered Milk
- Fold the powdered milk into the egg mixture a little at a time using a spatula. Mix gently until no dry pockets remain. If using vanilla extract or a pinch of salt, stir them in now.
Step 5: Fill the Pan
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top evenly.
Step 6: Air Fry the Cake
- Place the cake pan into the preheated air fryer basket.
- Bake at 320°F (160°C) for 22–25 minutes , or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Avoid opening the air fryer during the first 18 minutes to prevent the cake from collapsing.
Step 7: Cool
- Remove the cake carefully and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 8: Serve
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and slice into six equal pieces. Serve on its own or with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a drizzle of honey.
