Instructions

  1. Mix the yeast with the warm water and allow it to stand for about 5–10 minutes when using active yeast. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and bring everything together into a dough.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1–2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  3. Gently press down the risen dough and divide it into small portions about the size of golf balls. Roll each portion into a thin, even circle, keeping the dough as thin as practical for better puffing.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place one rolled piece of dough into the basket, using parchment paper if appropriate for your air fryer.
  5. Air fry for 1–2 minutes, then carefully flip the bread and cook for another 1–2 minutes. Watch closely because the thin dough cooks quickly.
  6. Remove the bread when it has puffed and developed a light golden color. Serve immediately while warm and soft.
