Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Measure all ingredients before beginning. Having everything ready ensures a smooth cooking process and prevents overheating the milk.
Step 2: Heat the Milk
- Pour the milk into a small saucepan and place it over low to medium-low heat.
- Warm the milk gradually for approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming on the surface.
- Do not allow the milk to boil. The ideal temperature is warm and steaming, not bubbling.
Step 3: Add the Flavorings
- Once the milk is warm, add:
- Honey
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla extract
- Nutmeg
- If using cocoa powder, add it at this stage as well.
- Whisk thoroughly until all ingredients are completely dissolved and evenly distributed throughout the milk.
Step 4: Simmer Gently
- Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 1 minute over low heat.
- Continue stirring to blend the flavors and maintain a smooth texture.
- Avoid overheating, as excessive heat can affect both flavor and texture.
Step 5: Serve
- Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Carefully pour the drink into your favorite mug.
- Sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon on top for an attractive presentation and extra aroma.
- Serve immediately while warm.
