Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

Step 2: Cook the Sausage

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the breakfast sausage and cook for about 6–8 minutes, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Continue until the sausage is browned and fully cooked.
  3. Drain any excess grease and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Eggs

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together:
  2. Eggs
  3. Milk
  4. Salt
  5. Black pepper
  6. Garlic powder
  7. Pour the egg mixture into the same skillet over medium-low heat.
  8. Cook gently, stirring frequently, until the eggs are scrambled and just set.
  9. Remove from heat immediately to prevent overcooking.

Step 4: Make the Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine:
  2. Cooked sausage
  3. Scrambled eggs
  4. Shredded cheddar cheese
  5. Chopped green onions
  6. Mix thoroughly until evenly distributed.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool for 3–5 minutes before assembling.

Step 5: Arrange the Crescent Dough

  1. Open both cans of crescent roll dough.
  2. Separate the dough into individual triangles.
  3. On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the triangles in a circular pattern with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward.
  4. The finished arrangement should resemble a sunburst.
  5. Press the overlapping portions lightly together to create a stable base.

Step 6: Add the Filling

  1. Spoon the sausage and egg mixture evenly around the ring on the widest part of the dough.
  2. Keep the filling in a circular shape and avoid overfilling.

Step 7: Form the Ring

  1. Bring each dough point over the filling and tuck it underneath the inner edge of the ring.
  2. Continue around the circle until the filling is enclosed.
  3. Some filling may remain visible, which adds to the finished presentation.

Step 8: Add Finishing Touches

  1. Brush the entire ring with melted butter.
  2. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top if desired.
  3. This helps create a beautiful golden finish during baking.

Step 9: Bake

  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
  2. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until:
  3. Dough is golden brown
  4. Crescent rolls are fully cooked
  5. Cheese is melted and bubbly
  6. Rotate the pan halfway through baking if necessary for even browning.

Step 10: Cool and Serve

  1. Remove from the oven and let the ring rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  3. Slice into wedges and serve warm.
