Prep timeared ahead of time. Once assembled, they simply need several hours in the refrigerator to become firm. You can even
Servings, allowing the dessert to be ready when your guests arrive. Another advantage is that the recipe can be adjusted easily. Dark chocolate can be used for a more intense cocoa flavor, while milk chocolate creates a sweeter result. Crunchy peanut butter can replace creamy peanut butter when you want additional texture. You can also experiment with chopped almonds, pecans, pretzels, toasted coconut, or different crispy cereals. For the neatest presentation, give the bars plenty of time to chill before cutting. Letting them sit at room temperature briefly before slicing also helps prevent the chocolate layer from breaking. A sharp knife warmed with hot water and dried thoroughly between cuts can produce clean, attractive squares. Whether you serve them with coffee, tea, cold milk, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, these no-bake bars make an indulgent homemade dessert with relatively little effort. They are creamy, crunchy, chocolaty, and peanut-buttery all at once, making them a versatile treat for both casual and special occasions.

Instructions
1. Prepare the Pan
- Line a 9 × 13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving some paper extending over two sides. The overhang will make it easier to lift the chilled dessert from the pan later.
- Lightly grease the parchment if desired.
2. Make the Biscuit Base
- Place the crushed biscuits in a mixing bowl. Add the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened and resemble damp sand. When pressed between your fingers, the mixture should hold together.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Spread it evenly and press it down firmly using the bottom of a measuring cup or the back of a spoon.
- Refrigerate the base while preparing the next layer.
3. Prepare the Peanut Butter Mixture
- Place the butter in a saucepan over low heat and allow it to melt gently.
- Add the peanut butter and stir until the two ingredients become smooth and evenly combined. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Stir in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Continue mixing until the filling is smooth.
- Avoid heating the mixture excessively, as too much heat can cause the peanut butter to separate.
4. Add the Crispy Cereal
- Place the crisp rice cereal in a large bowl. Add the chopped roasted peanuts if you are using them.
- Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the cereal.
- Using a rubber spatula, fold everything together carefully. Try not to crush the cereal because maintaining its shape helps preserve the crunchy texture.
5. Build the Peanut Butter Layer
- Take the chilled biscuit base from the refrigerator.
- Transfer the peanut butter cereal mixture onto the base and spread it evenly across the pan.
- Press gently enough to create an even layer, but avoid compacting it too aggressively. Too much pressure can reduce the crunch.
- Place the pan back into the refrigerator.
6. Prepare the Chocolate Topping
- Place the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a heatproof bowl.
- Melt the mixture gently, either in short microwave intervals or over a saucepan containing gently simmering water.
- Stir frequently until the chocolate becomes completely smooth.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- The finished chocolate should be glossy and fluid enough to spread easily.
7. Finish the Bars
- Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer.
- Spread it carefully into an even coating using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
- If desired, sprinkle a very small amount of flaky sea salt across the surface.
8. Chill Until Firm
- Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
- For the firmest texture and cleanest slices, refrigerating the bars overnight is an excellent option.
9. Cut and Serve
- Once completely firm, lift the dessert from the pan using the parchment-paper handles.
- Allow it to rest at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the slab into squares or rectangles. For cleaner cuts, warm and dry the knife between slices.
- Serve chilled or allow the bars to soften slightly before serving.

Notes
Keep the finished bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can generally be refrigerated for up to one week when properly stored. Place parchment paper between layers if the bars are stacked. For longer storage, wrap individual portions securely and place them in a freezer-safe container. They can be frozen for up to three months. Transfer frozen bars to the refrigerator and allow them to thaw gradually before serving.
