Ingredients
Seafood
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 12 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt, to taste

- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small shallot, finely diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken or seafood broth
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest

- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions
Step 1: Season the Seafood
- Pat the cod fillets and shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the cod and shrimp with:
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Set aside while preparing the skillet.
Step 2: Sear the Cod
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat .
- Place the cod fillets in the hot skillet.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden.
- The fish should release easily from the pan when ready to flip.
- Transfer to a plate.
Step 3: Cook the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, add the shrimp.
- Cook over medium-high heat for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp and set aside with the cod.
Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- Reduce heat to medium .
- Add the remaining butter.
- Stir in:
- Garlic
- Shallot
- Cook for 2 minutes , stirring frequently until fragrant.
- Pour in the seafood broth.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes , scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Step 5: Create the Cream Sauce
- Lower heat to medium-low .
- Add:
- Heavy cream
- Parmesan cheese
- Italian seasoning
- Red pepper flakes
- Lemon zest
- Whisk until smooth.
- Simmer gently for 4–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Avoid boiling, as this may cause the cream to separate.
Step 6: Return the Seafood
- Carefully return the cod and shrimp to the skillet.
- Spoon the creamy sauce over the seafood.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes on low heat , or until the cod flakes easily with a fork and the shrimp are fully heated through.
- Finish with fresh lemon juice.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
