Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–7 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and knead for 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Form into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1½ hours, until doubled in size.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle (about 10×14 inches).
- Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
- Scatter blueberries evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, then gently twist or coil to create a swirl.
- Place into a parchment-lined loaf pan or round baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked inside. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil.
- Remove from oven and brush lightly with melted butter if desired.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes
Softened cream cheese blends more evenly. Do not overfill with blueberries to prevent excess moisture. Allow full cooling for clean slices. Serve warm or at room temperature, with coffee or tea, lightly toasted with butter, or as a brunch or dessert bread. Store wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Reheat slices lightly before serving.
