Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease a small oven-safe ramekin with butter or cooking spray. Crack the egg into the ramekin, pierce the yolk if desired, and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the ramekin with the egg and the pre-cooked sausage patty into the air fryer basket. Cook at 360°F (180°C) for 5 to 6 minutes until the egg whites are set and the sausage is hot.
- While cooking, brush both inner cut sides of the split English muffin with softened butter.
- Remove the egg and sausage from the air fryer. Place the buttered English muffin halves face-up in the basket and air fry at 360°F (180°C) for 2 minutes until golden brown.
- On the bottom half of the toasted muffin, layer the sausage patty, the cooked egg, and the slice of cheese.
- Place the assembled open-faced sandwich and the top muffin half back into the air fryer. Cook at 360°F (180°C) for 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the air fryer, place the top half over the cheese, press gently, and serve immediately.
