Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for 3 to 5 minutes. Preheating ensures immediate heat transfer as soon as the frozen fries hit the basket, preventing sogginess.

Step 2: Load the Basket

  1. Arrange the frozen crinkle cut fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Slight overlapping is fine, but avoid piling them deep so hot air circulates evenly around the crinkled edges.

Step 3: Air Fry (Initial Blast)

  1. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 6 to 7 minutes . During this phase, moisture evaporates rapidly from the frozen surface.

Step 4: Shake & Season

  1. Pull out the basket and shake vigorously to redistribute the fries. If desired, lightly spritz with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Step 5: Final Crisp Phase

  1. Return the basket to the air fryer and continue cooking at 400°F (200°C) for an additional 6 to 8 minutes . Check at the 12-minute mark; extend to 15 minutes if you prefer an extra-crispy, deep golden finish.

Step 6: Rest and Serve

  1. Transfer the hot fries to a wire rack or parchment-lined bowl. Season immediately while hot so seasonings stick. Serve warm alongside your favorite dipping sauces.
